Her story is not a survival tale.
She does not stand victorious.
She is not healed.
She is not resilient.

She exists
in spite of.

Here.

Fire moves around her.
It does not announce an ending.
It does not promise a beginning.
Her pain is not a doorway—
It is a language,
naming the fact
that she belongs to the rolling tide.

The blue calms no flame.
The flame erases no blue.
They hold each other
in sacred union—
the way breath holds a lung,
The way lungs hold a body
that has already been through too much
and keeps breathing anyway.

Her expression is not defiance.
It is not fear.
Or dread.

She is aware
of her mortality.

This is the moment
after every question of Why
has been asked
and none answered.

Meaning has not arrived yet.
Clarity has not formed.

Her tears do not understand. Her pain does not know
And still—
existence continues.
Quietly.
Stubbornly.
Without explanation.

Still, I remain
is not a brick thrown through a window.

Or a birdsong from a nearby branch.
It is blood moving through a vein.
An exhale through the chest.
A tear finding skin.

To remain is not triumph.
It is not bravery.
It is not stillness after rain.

It is simply
the refusal
to disappear.

To exist, still. 

And sometimes,
that is enough.

We are not always responsible for the fire we carry.

This is the first and only version of the work, created entirely by hand, where every decision lives permanently on the surface: the pauses, the revisions, the instinct that cannot be repeated. Once it leaves the studio, it will never exist again in this form.
